Brassica oleracea var. Acephala
Tall Portuguese variant of kale.
The very robust Galician cabbage grows up to 1.80m high and withstands temperatures down to -15°C. The plant has a rather high water requirement, but it roots very deeply and can therefore draw water from the ground. When harvesting, the lower leaves should always be harvested so that the cabbage grows back better.
