.An old, almost forgotten root vegetable, which was considered a delicacy in northern Europe until the 19th century
.The 15-30 cm long roots have a sweet aromatic taste and are also known in England as "vegetable oyster". Oatroot can be harvested from September until flowering in the spring. The purple flowers in the 2nd year are a tasty decoration in any salad.
