.The Geisenheim early tomato was found in 1890 in the research institute of the University of Geisenheim and called "Geisenheimer Frühe". The tomato variety could only survive because it was distributed by a seed supplier under the name "Johannisfeuer" and thus preserved until today. The variety is on the red list of endangered native crops in Germany.
